Not necessarily traditional educations. How about acquiring a new skill?<\/p>\n<h2>Become accomplishment focused.<\/h2>\n<p>We need to get active, rather than passively observe. Happiness comes from doing.<\/p>\n<p>But not just doing anything.<\/p>\n<p>It has to be doing something that is meaningful to us.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redonline.co.uk\/health-self\/learning-new-skill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Edwina Ings-Chambers<\/a> something meaningful was taking a dance class. She writes in Red magazine she was &#8220;feeling the need for something more nourishing, something that brought out a bit more of me in myself&#8230;&#8230;..There\u2019s something about learning and being physical and creative with it that is totally engrossing and almost childishly liberating.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Will Storr explains<span style=\"display:inline !important;float:none;background-color:transparent;color:#3d596d;font-family:'Noto Serif', Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:normal;line-height:27.2px;orphans:2;text-align:left;text-decoration:none;text-indent:0;text-transform:none;white-space:normal;word-spacing:0;\"> &#8216;There\u2019s the idea of hedonistic happiness. Then there\u2019s eudemonic happiness, which is this Aristotelian notion that happiness is the struggle to achieve, the perseverance, the striving.&#8217; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"display:inline !important;float:none;background-color:transparent;color:#3d596d;font-family:'Noto Serif', Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:normal;line-height:27.2px;orphans:2;text-align:left;text-decoration:none;text-indent:0;text-transform:none;white-space:normal;word-spacing:0;\">So it&#8217;s the striving to accomplish that brings the happiness. We need to be doing something that is not just meaningful, but something where we can get better over time.<\/span><b><\/b><i><\/i><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>And once we find that something, the happiness produced brings long term gains.
