Widely used by the 1990\u2019s, it referred to games which have a different character in the two halves. While the source of the phrase isn\u2019t clear it has been cited in a \u2018soccer dictionary\u2019 of 1988\/89.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First Half<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The month started well for the City Adventurers. We returned to the theatre is London\u2019s west End and saw two fantastic shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prince of Egypt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cityadventurers.co.uk\/assets\/images\/orince-of-egypt-1440x1440-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>and Back To The Future<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cityadventurers.co.uk\/assets\/images\/back-to-the-future-1440x1072-800x596-800x596.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We spent an afternoon at The Tate Modern<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cityadventurers.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/10\/img_0805.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3154\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And joined a group shopping trip to Jubilee Market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We joined friends for some fantastic meals out and held a wonderful Cheese and Wine party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then we headed to Hampshire for a dinner dance with music from the 1980\u2019s. Fantastic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Second Half<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After having a very busy and safe visit to Edinburgh in August, followed by some great trips to London, Ian and I went down with Covid-19. Or, as the American\u2019s call it \u201cBreakthrough COVID-19\u201d. Yes, we had both been double vaccinated but no&nbsp;vaccine&nbsp;is 100% effective. There was still a small chance we could catch the&nbsp;coronavirus and we did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So if you are wondering about the lack of blogs for September, I was too busy having fun at the start and too ill at the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cityadventurers.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/10\/dsc01486-e1633278564136.jpg\" alt=\"At Banksy Exhibition\" class=\"wp-image-3157\"\/><figcaption>At Banksy Exhibition<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Hopefully normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Join City Adventurers and start exploring\u2026..<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Join our club for people who want to live life to the full.
