“Street Art in Brixton” explores art on the streets of Brixton. Blurring the lines between street and public art, the Street Art in Brixton Treasure Hunt features commissioned works and works by known graffiti artists.<\/p>\n
Street Art, rebellious and illegal, began as a way of taking art out of traditional galleries and giving it back to the people. However, some authorities recognised that art could be used to regenerate areas and so public art began to be commissioned by cities or property owners. Now art on the street and street art have become culturally enriching and socially acceptable.<\/p>\n
