{"id":14481,"date":"2024-08-09T04:05:45","date_gmt":"2024-08-09T03:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cityadventurers.co.uk\/blog\/?p=14481"},"modified":"2024-08-09T15:01:32","modified_gmt":"2024-08-09T14:01:32","slug":"emmerdale-village-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cityadventurers.co.uk\/blog\/?p=14481","title":{"rendered":"Emmerdale Village Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The City Adventurers took a trip to Emmerdale Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, it is a real place\u2026\u2026well a sort of \u201creal\u201d place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is actually a purpose built village (in a secret location).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the cameras stop rolling, and the cast head home for the weekend, the filming location offers a behind-the-scenes guided tour of Yorkshire\u2019s \u2018hidden\u2019 village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to Emmerdale\u2019s secret filming location, you have to take a coach from the Weetwood Hall Hotel car park to the production set of Emmerdale Village. For those that cannot arrive this way, disabled parking can be arranged nearer the village visitor centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were met by our guide in the visitor centre for the short walk into the village. There was time to strike a pose next to the famous Emmerdale sign, before continuing into the village past the bus stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-style-rounded\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cityadventurers.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/img_2310.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Emmerdale Village - photo by juliamaud\" class=\"wp-image-5786\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Emmerdale Village \u2013 photo by juliamaud<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our tour guide entertained us with intriguing set stories and soap trivia along the way. Even if you haven\u2019t been a regular viewer to the show, which has been running for the last five decades, there is something for everyone to enjoy here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, there are unmistakable locations en route, such as the quaint and colourful David\u2019s Shop. We all took turns to stand on the the steps of The Woolpack and we got to visit iconic external sets like Caf\u00e9 Mainstreet and Dingles Automotive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-style-rounded\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cityadventurers.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/dsc03513.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5784\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember this is an outdoor village tour. The 80-minute tour covers rough terrain, gradients, slopes and grass. Yes, it is open to the elements. Yes, it rained during our visit, but we were lucky enough to be near the church and sought sanctuary there until it stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-style-rounded\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cityadventurers.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/dsc03522.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5788\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Back inside the Visitor Centre there was time to have a drink, use the facilities and wander around the Emmerdale gift shop for unique souvenirs to commemorate our visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We had a great day out.
