City Adventurers had a few busy months of museum visits this year. We visited some new galleries and exhibitions at two of the top London Museums. First we went to two new galleries at the Science Museum. Then we visited Our Story with David Attenborough at the Natural History Museum plus the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Museums are good for you<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Visiting Museums is a good habit, as it turns out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Art Fund <\/a>has reviewed recent research showing museums and galleries support both mental and physical wellbeing. Not from one big trip, but from going regularly, even just a few times a year. While improved wellbeing is not something I can promise, the possibility of it is a nice bonus to a good day out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Science Museum<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the Science Museum we saw two exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Water, Pantanal, Fire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Water Pantanal Fire, a photography exhibition on the Pantanal, the world\u2019s largest wetland. Sprawling across South America, it is home to jaguars, howler monkeys, and hundreds of species of fish and bird. A beautiful exhibition, and a sobering one, as drought and wildfire increasingly threaten the wetland, driven by deforestation and climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future of Food<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our second stop was Future of Food. This explored how our food gets from field to plate. It explained how food used to be produced and how advances in ecology and biotechnology might change what\u2019s on our plates in future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future of Food<\/a> is now extended until 1 September 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had plenty to talk about in the caf\u00e9 afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
