Rumours of The Happytime Murders have been going on for years. <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Devised by Brian Henson\u00a0(son of Jim Henson) back in 2008\u00a0this project was to be an R-rated puppet project. Now it seems the project is moving forward. The IMDB lists it as being in development and various film websites are noting its progress and change of writers.<\/p>\n

Where humans and puppets coexist<\/h3>\n

The movie is set in a\u00a0world where humans and puppets coexist, although the puppets are treated as second-class citizens. When the former stars of\u00a0the kids\u2019 show\u00a0The Happytime Gang start being bumped off, it takes a washed-up private eye puppet, and his former human partner at the LAPD, to solve the case.<\/p>\n

The\u00a02012 script\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0 came\u00a0from\u00a0 Todd Berger. The new script is by Erich Hoeber\u00a0and Jon Hoeber<\/a>,\u00a0who wrote Red, and Red 2. Brian Henson said The Happytime Murders <\/a>will “take puppets to a place where we have never gone before on the big screen” .
