UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) seeks to encourage the identification, protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity. It adopted the\u00a0\u00a0Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0in 1972.<\/p>\n

UNESCO\u00a0places to visit<\/h2>\n

Some places of natural heritage and world culture are easier to visit than others. To find ones you want to travel to, check out the\u00a0 UNESCO World Heritage<\/a> sites. <\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Make it your mission to see at least ten sites.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Remember you don’t have to go on a long expedition to the other side of the world to see them. There are some marvels close to home, such as the Tower of London and Maritime Greenwich.<\/span><\/p>\n
