\nThis drama\u00a0begins as a\u00a0murder mystery\u00a0in Victorian London. It offers a glimpse into the backstories to the characters described in\u00a0Charles Dickens works.\u00a0 Dickens created around 989 named characters and many of them are featured in Dickensian.<\/p>\n

Inspector Bucket sets out to\u00a0investigate the murder of Jacob Marley. Along the way he\u00a0 suspects such well known characters as Bill Sikes\u00a0and Fagin, and even nice Mr Cratchit.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Amelia Havisham\u00a0inherits her father’s estate, to the chargrin of her brother.\u00a0 Love may be\u00a0(or may not be) in the air for Amelia and her friend, Honoria. This drama\u00a0plays out\u00a0more\u00a0like a soap opera than a murder mystery.<\/p>\n

Comprising\u00a020 episodes of\u00a0BBC drama,\u00a0the boxed set is available to enjoy at home.<\/p>\n

Does Inspector Bucket solve the crime? Yes, he does. But even when the murderer is revealed the drama continues. The plot lines for the other characters, notably that of \u00a0Miss Havisham, continue to play out.<\/p>\n
