This building is Europe&#8217;s first Museum and Exploration of Immigration and Diversity.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0elegant Georgian house was built in 1719 and\u00a0became \u00a0the home of a\u00a0Huguenot family, who had escaped from persecution in France.\u00a0It was\u00a0sub-divided into lodgings and workshops for silk weavers.<\/p>\n<p>Later the house became home to Irish immigrants. These were followed by Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe.
