Just when you think things are working out, life throws you a curveball<\/u><\/em><\/h3>\n

Every so often life throws you a curveball. Something that comes out of nowhere to seriously mess\u00a0things up.<\/p>\n

And occasionally that “something” that knocked you down is followed by “something else” that gives you a good kicking while you are\u00a0trying to get up.<\/p>\n

Luckily that doesn’t happen very often, thank God. (Other Deities\u00a0may be available).<\/p>\n

But, at the risk of sounding like the\u00a0Labour party at the 1997 election<\/a>, just remember that Things Can Only Get Better.<\/h3>\n

When life gives you lemons…….<\/em><\/u><\/h3>\n

\n…….you can’t demand to see life’s manager and complain.<\/p>\n

You could make lemonade, of course. Or start looking for someone with the gin and have a party!<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

Sometimes it’s the small things in life that can turn a bad situation around. <\/u><\/em><\/h3>\n

\nYou just need to look for the “gin” to add to your “lemon”. (Other drinks are available).<\/p>\n

A couple of weeks ago I was saying to my son how I had an ever growing “bucket list” of places to visit and\u00a0things to do. Unfortunately, due to a couple of curve-balls, these big plans had temporarily been put on hold.<\/p>\n

He asked what would be my idea of a perfect day. What if\u00a0I could choose anything?<\/p>\n

And suddenly it was the small things that mattered.<\/p>\n

Not visiting the Taj Mahal\u00a0or seeing the Northern Lights, although both are on my bucket list.<\/p>\n

Not white water rafting in the smoky mountains or hot air ballooning – I’ve done both of those already.<\/p>\n

No, it was having my family around my big oak dining table playing board games.<\/p>\n

And that’s just what happened this weekend. The kids came home for Sunday Dinner. A roast with all the trimmings. Then we played board games together. Perfect.<\/p>\n

So\u00a0 remember to keep looking for the gin to go with your lemon……<\/h3>\n
