{"id":958,"date":"2019-10-23T14:13:46","date_gmt":"2019-10-23T14:13:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cityadventurers.co.uk\/blog\/?p=958"},"modified":"2019-10-23T14:13:46","modified_gmt":"2019-10-23T14:13:46","slug":"bletchley-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cityadventurers.co.uk\/blog\/?p=958","title":{"rendered":"Bletchley Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The secret of code breaking at Bletchley Park<\/h2>\n<p>During World War Two everything happening at Bletchley Park was a secret.\u00a0<span style=\"color:var(--color-text);\">W<\/span><span style=\"color:var(--color-text);\">orkers were not even allowed to tell their family what they did there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>During a recent guided tour of the complex, our guide told us<span style=\"color:var(--color-text);\">\u00a0how two soldiers had\u00a0 thought it was some kind of psychiatric hospital during WW2, as the people they could see inside were walking around in nightwear. In truth it was the code breakers, who stayed on the base 24 hours a day, moving from hut to hut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The secret of\u00a0Bletchley Park was not made public until 1974. That was when a book was published about how\u00a0the British code breakers\u00a0cracked the German Enigma code there.
