Christmas wishes

This time of year brings to mind those things in life that are most important. It’s a time when we send festive greetings to those who are dear to us.
In 1843, Sir John Henry Cole was too busy to write personal holiday greetings, so he hired a London artist, John Calcott Horsley, to design a Christmas card. According to Cronin & Company the illustration showed a family raising wineglasses in a toast, drawing vocal criticism from the temperance community. The ensuing controversy helped to popularise card-sending.

These days we may send eCards instead of cards, but the sentiments are still the same as ever. A sharing of love. Peace on Earth. Goodwill to mankind.

With wishes like these, don’t you wish it could be Christmas every day?
