Sticking to resolutions is hard

By now you’ve probably had a load of “New Year, New You” emails. All telling you how this year is going to be YOUR year to do something amazing. All you need to do is make a resolution……and stick to it.

And about now you’ve probably decided that sticking to it is not an option. (Unless that resolution was Dry January – I notice a lot of people manage to hold on to that one. A bit like Lent, it’s got a limited lifespan, so is easier to manage.)

In the past I’ve succeeded when I’ve resolved to do things and set a time limit.

  • Write and produce an interactive Murder Mystery play for 8 actors and professionally stage it to the public in 3 months – The Egg and Spoon Race.
  • Write a book on Social Team Building and launch it internationally in London and Toronto in 6 months – What are we going to do next?

But along with the successes there are also the unlimited time resolutions that fell by the wayside, such as loosing weight. And the unfinished courses that I’m going to complete one day.
