Play is good for our wellbeing
The opposite of play is not work, it’s depression. So it follows that we need to play to maintain our wellbeing.
“Nothing lights up the brain like play. Three-dimensional play fires up the cerebellum, puts a lot of impulses into the frontal lobe and helps contextual memory be developed.” – Stuart Brown
Shared Experiences
Life’s experiences tap into our emotions on a deep personal level and produce memories.
Research has proved that people are happier if they spend their money on experiences rather than material goods. What we experience becomes part of us in a way that possessions never can. Experiences are more pleasurable to talk about than things, as they connect us with others who have shared the experience. They can also act as an ice-breaker to form relationships with others.
Sometimes an experience involves a challenge. With this sense of adventure comes a feeling of accomplishment.
Adventures Bring Lasting Happiness
Anticipating the adventure increases happiness, as the thought of the experience begins with the planning stage. Adventurers can discuss the adventure before they leave and share the memories when they come back. In some ways the experiences live on in the stories and memories that accompany them. So you could say adventures bring lasting happiness.
