The first ever design museum to be built in the UK outside London.
V&A Museum of Design Dundee will be an international centre of design for Scotland. Renowned architect Kengo Kuma’s has designed the only purpose built galleries in Scotland large enough to showcase world-class touring exhibitions from the V&A in their entirety. The galleries are planned as a place for all to enjoy and be inspired.
As noted on their website, the new museum will have four gallery spaces, two of which will combine to form the Scottish Design Galleries, providing, for the first time, a home to the story of Scotland’s outstanding contribution to the international design stage from the 18th century to the present day.
A look at Scottish heritage within the V & A Museum in London
Getting ready for Burn’s Night, Treasure Hunts in London are organising a treasure hunt around the V&A looking at art and artifacts from north of the border. As always the hunt has a mixture of straight and cryptic clues and puzzles to solve.
Book your tickets in advance and bring your team of 2 to 6 people along.
The hunt will end nearby with a wee dram, scoring and prize giving.
