Kensington Palace is situated in Kensington Gardens, London. Adventurers on our “Treasure Hunts in London” Royal Treasure Hunt seen the outside during the hunt. Now it was time to visit the inside…..However, the City Adventurers planned trip in June, had to be postponed due to transport strikes and rescheduled for September.
What is there to see?
The palace was originally designed as a royal residence for William III & Mary II by Sir Christopher Wren. It is currently the home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
King’s State Apartments – Climb the magnificent King’s Staircase, marvel at the impressively decorated rooms and discover the fashionable world of the curious court of George II and Queen Caroline.
Queens State Apartments – Explore the rooms where Mary II took her meals, relaxed and entertained.
Discover the story of Princess Victoria – visit the rooms where the young girl destined to be queen was born and raised at Kensington Palace.
Life Through a Royal Lens – a unique exhibition exploring the Royal Family’s relationship with the camera. (Until 30 October 2022.)
Palace Gardens – The beautiful gardens reconnect the building with the landscape of Kensington Gardens providing picturesque walks and fantastic vistas.
