The City Adventurers were lucky enough to get tickets for the Global Premiere of Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbour Totoro. This was brought to London’s Barbican Theatre by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Joe Hisaishi.
The story begins with Satsuki and her little sister Mei moving to a rural retreat. Their father has moved the family to be closer to the hospital where there mother is recovering from an unspecified illness. the girls discover a place of nature and magic, and gain the friendship of the Totoro forest spirits.

The celebrated 1988 animated feature film by Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away) will be brought to the stage by its original composer Joe Hisaishi in this landmark new adaptation written by playwright Tom Morton-Smith. This ground-breaking stage production will feature puppetry created by Basil Twist and music from Joe Hisaishi’s iconic score performed live.”
