Written by Agatha Christie “A Murder Is Announced” was published in 1950. It features the investigative Miss Marple.
The plot
Curiosity is aroused when an advertisement appears in the local gazette entitled ‘A murder is announced’. The date and time of the murder are given, as is the venue – Little Paddocks – but what could it all mean? Will it be some sort of parlour game? Could it be a practical joke? Or something more sinister?
To find out more about the mysterious invitation, a crowd gathers at Little Paddocks at the appointed time as requested.
Then suddenly, without warning, the lights go out…and a gun is fired…..

New production
The Middle Ground Theatre Company Ltd is touring their production of this classic Miss Marple mystery. Adapted for the Stage by Leslie Darbon, it is designed and directed by Michael Lunney. The star cast for 2017 includes Lousie Jameson as Miss Marple and Janet Dibley as Letitia Blacklock.
