Continuing our trips around UK Christmas Markets, a couple of City Adventurers invited us to The Waddesdon Manor Christmas fair. Waddesdon Manor, set in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside, is a National Trust property and a Rothschild House and Garden.
Set against the backdrop of the Manor with its 20ft Christmas trees, the Christmas Market is housed in wooden chalets, surrounded by twinkling trees. The stalls offer a vast array of items for sale and lots of food and drink to sample before you buy.
In front of the manor are two statues made of wine bottles. This year as well as the Manor illuminations, there was also a Winter Light trail. As it had started to rain we gave the trail a miss but did stop for lunch at the Stables, walked through the “Baubles at the Stables” and watched the Light in motion installation at the Coach House.
